How I Approach Nutrition

My approach was shaped by both clinical experience and a growing frustration with diet culture. Health is not built through restriction or obsessing over calories. It is built through understanding your body, developing simple tools, and creating habits that actually last.

I believe our bodies were created by God with purpose to support us in serving others, connecting with the people we love, and fully living our lives. Nourishment should support that, not consume it.

I have worked with individuals navigating oncology, diabetes, gut issues, PCOS, and hormonal changes, and I have seen firsthand how small, consistent shifts in nutrition, meal timing, and movement can create meaningful change, even in the midst of complex health challenges.

Whether you are working through a health condition, struggling with disordered eating, or looking to heal your relationship with food, this is a space to learn, rebuild trust with your body, and create sustainable habits slowly and intentionally without overwhelm. Because real, lasting change comes from patience, consistency, and genuine effort.

About Me

My name is Katie Lane. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition from the University of Hawaii, where I built a strong foundation in science and developed a deep understanding of physiology and the human body. I am currently pursuing my Master’s in Dietetics to become a Registered Dietitian.

I began my career working in a medical weight loss clinic, primarily with individuals struggling with obesity. That experience showed me just how individualized nutrition truly is. What works for one person may not work for another, which is why listening, gathering the right information, and creating a personalized approach is so important!

Through this work, I also learned that health goes far beyond calories. Metabolism is not just about energy in and out. It is a complex biochemical process that depends on proper nourishment, hormone balance, and overall metabolic function. I gained a deeper understanding of the biological drivers behind food cravings and patterns, and how the body can sometimes work against you when deeper imbalances are present.

My clinical experience in a private medical practice allowed me to apply this knowledge to real patients. I have worked with individuals navigating a wide range of conditions including cancer, IBS, PCOS, diabetes, menopause, and unexplained weight gain. In each case, I saw how targeted nutrition and lifestyle changes could make a meaningful difference.

This work is truly my passion, and I am so excited to share it with you!
